Helen Hoskins will be speaking about Bunda Girls Secondary School in Tanzania, where St John’s Dee Why sponsor two students.
The event will be followed by a simple afternoon tea. All welcome. Parishioners are encouraged to attend.
Christmas Day
Celebrate the joy of Christmas with us at our Christmas Day 8am and 10am services, as we gather to rejoice in the birth of Jesus Christ.
These services offer a warm and welcoming space for worship, prayer, and thanksgiving, filled with uplifting carols, scripture, and a message of hope for all. Christmas Day is a time to pause, reflect, and give thanks for God’s gift of love to the world.
Come as a family, with friends, or on your own, you are warmly invited to share in this special celebration and begin Christmas Day centred on faith and joy.
Mass of Christmas Night
You are warmly invited to join us for our Christmas Eve Mass, a beautiful and reverent celebration of the birth of Christ. Gather with our church family at this special time to experience meaningful worship, traditional carols, scripture readings, and a message of hope, peace, and joy.
In the stillness and wonder of Christmas Eve, we come together to remember God’s love made known to us.
Whether you are a regular attendee or visiting for Christmas, you are most welcome. Come and prepare your heart for Christmas as we celebrate this holy night together.
Children’s Christmas Eve Service
This short and special family-friendly service is designed especially for children of all ages, filled with festive music, a fun and meaningful Christmas story, and moments of wonder as we celebrate the birth of Jesus together. Expect warmth, and a welcoming atmosphere where children can feel at home.
Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols
A beautiful traditional choral service, featuring St John’s choir directed by Musical Director, Anthony Pasquill. Join us afterwards for supper and fellowship in the Parish Centre.
Early Christmas Service
Each year, we warmly welcome anyone who may find it difficult to attend church on Christmas Day to join us for a special pre-Christmas service held on the Wednesday before Christmas.
Enjoy the joy of familiar Christmas carols, a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, and stay afterwards for a delightful morning tea in the Parish Centre. It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the season together, share fellowship, and prepare our hearts for Christmas.

All Souls’ Solemn Requiem
Each year in November the Church celebrates All Souls’ Day, the commemoration of all the faithful departed.
On this day we pray in love and thankfulness for all those who have died - our dear ones who we trust are safe and happy in God’s keeping.
This special Requiem Eucharist for All Souls at St John’s Anglican Church on Sunday 2 November at 10:00am will feature the beautiful choral music - Requiem by Gabriel Faure, directed by Anthony Pasquill.
We would like to invite you and your family to join us for this service as we express our love through prayer for our dead friends and relations.
The Mass is celebrated by St John’s Parish Priest - Fr Steven Salmon SSC.
