Katie Garman to play in Beijing Olympic Orchestra

Katie Garman (server, reader, Youth Group member) has been selected to be part of the NSW delegation of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Orchestra! (It is a youth orchestra by the way.)

They will be travelling to China in July next year and join other students from around the world to form the full orchestra. They will be doing performances, touring (Great Wall, Forbidden Palace, Shanghai, etc) and maybe even see some of the games!

While her javelin skills have been improving recently, it seems as though it is the French horn she has been selected for.

That’s the good news. Rehearsals start soon, somewhere the other side of Sydney, and the cost is $5,500 (gulp!) Katie has already placed an order for chocolate bars to start selling. Do you want to buy a thousand or so?

We are very proud of Katie. Well done!
